The Councillor for Youth Ministry met the Apostolic Nuncio to the EU and the European Catholic organisations in Brussels

On 14 February 2023, Fr. Miguel Angel García Morcuende, General Councillor for Youth Ministry and President of Don Bosco International (DBI), visited Brussels, where he met the Most Reverend Noel Treanor, Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union. During the meeting, Fr. García Morcuende had the opportunity to talk about the commitment of the Salesians of Don Bosco to vulnerable children and young people worldwide and the mission of DBI, the body that represents the Salesian Congregation within the institutions of the European Union (EU). The conversation focused particularly on how raise awareness on the EU common identity among young people, and on the message that peace cannot be taken for granted, but it needs our joint efforts. The day after, Fr. García Morcuende attended a meeting with several Catholic organisations involved in advocacy at the European level, organised by the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE). During the fruitful exchange of projects, ideas and good practices, the participants raise interesting question on the current challenges related to youth and digitalisation, mental health and positive narrative on migration.
