As the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced the past September, 2022 has been proclaimed the European Year of Youth. Therefore, in view of the Feast of the Don Bosco (31/1), DBI is organising an event for our friends and stakeholders in Brussels, celebrating those who are supporting youth through the pandemic.Accordingly, the title of this dialogue is : « With & For the Youth, through the pandemic ».
From 5pm to 6pm on Wednesday 26th of January, Auberie Samson (Secretary-General of Don Bosco Youth-Net) will interview Br Jean Paul Muller SDB (General Economer of the Salesians of Don Bosco) at the Chapel for Europe, asking his point of view (from his global observatory) on the situation of youth in Europe (and beyond our continent too) through this pandemic. Br Muller, who is originary from Luxembourg and currently serving in Rome, will both share the most recent news from the central government of the Salesian Congregation, as well as his take from the field-grassroots level, which he is able to visit periodically. Indeed, since its spread in 2020, the Salesians are supporting young people, especially the most vulnerable among them, in 135 countries to cope with the many challenges posed by the pandemic.
