YOUTH INCLUSION: Education, Employment, Empowerment

2017-02-22 - 2017-02-25 All day

The National Federation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco is organising an Erasmus+ EU Funded Programme with the title:  Youth Inclusion:  Education, Employment and Empowerment.  This project is a structured dialogue on the theme of youth Inclusion with the participation of young people and policy makers.

Youth Inclusion through education, employment and empowerment can be a response to the present European youth crisis of high youth unemployment rates, the growing number of poor people, significant number of vulnerable young people leaving school without qualifications, rising figures of suicide, addictions, and stress levels causing ill health.  Ensuring well being among all youth is a challenge especially to the poorest youth.  Poor physical and mental health is also a significant part of the life of poor youth.

The aim of the project is to learn more about groups of poor young people amongst the poorest youth.  Among the groups of young people that are identified that more information and insight will be sought are:  migrant youth, unemployed youth, NEETS, early school leavers, youth who left care, youth with mental health needs, disabled youth, and incarcerated youth.

A group of 48 young people from Palermo, Milan, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Malta will be meeting in Malta between the 21st and 26thFebruary 2017 to engage in a process of dialogue between young people and policy makers to explore further the theme of youth inclusion.
