Tackling Youth Unemployment in Europe: A Catholic Church¹s Perspective

Tackling Youth Unemployment in Europe: A Catholic Church¹s Perspective

In its first evaluation report on the Youth Guarantee and the Youth Employment Initiative, the European Commission stressed in October that both initiatives have been already successful in contributing to a decrease in youth unemployment. But what is the assessment of a VET expert that was directly involved in the implementation process in Italy and to what extent has the Youth Guarantee helped the young long-term unemployed to find a job?

The event is organised as part of the European Vocational Skills Week. As you can see from the invitation below and the enclosed programme, Ivàn Toscano from the National Don Bosco Association for VET Centres will present his practical experience on the implementation of the Youth Guarantee. Subsequently, he will discuss with representatives of the EU institutions and the European Youth Forum on the role of VET in addressing the (long-term) youth unemployment in Europe

The event will take place in the premises of the COMECE Secretariat (Square de Meeûs 19, 1050 Brussels) starting at 18:30. You might register until Monday 5 December via the COMECE website
